Well-known medium sized law firm is looking for a Mass Tort Client Paralegal who will work mostly remote and is responsible for all aspects related to managing clients for the Complex & Mass Tort practice group. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serve as main point of contact for clients including:
- Maintaining regular client contact
- Promptly responding to client inquiries
- Managing incoming and outgoing client correspondence
- Responsible for ordering, tracking and reviewing client medical records and information to document evidence required to prove case and following up as needed;
- Maintaining and calendaring client related deadlines including SOLs and client specific discovery related deadlines;
- Responsible for responding to discovery utilizing MDL Centrality and LMI Litigation Management, including:
- calendaring deadlines;
- preparing answers to interrogatories;
- completing and submitting Plaintiff Fact Sheets, Plaintiff Profile Forms, Census Forms; and
- curing related deficiencies.
- Working closely with the Client Service Specialist team to meet objectives of effectively and efficiently managing clients;
- Working closely with litigation team to ensure client files are complete and ready for filing, meeting discovery deadlines and trial;
- Performing legal research using various research tools, including the Internet, Westlaw, LexisNexis, PACER and various public-access websites;
- Utilizing Microsoft programs including Word and Excel to manage projects.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities Knowledge and Skills:
- Demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure and regularly meet deadlines
- Ability to do legal research
- Ability to read and understand medical records
- Ability to work independently and as a team, with strong reasoning skills
- Proficiency using MS Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, Westlaw, LexisNexis and PACER
- Experience using document management and case management systems.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with all phase of litigation process
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed
Education and Work Experience:
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Minimum two (2) years' experience with Client contact in a Mass Tort or similar litigation practice
- Plaintiff experience strongly preferred
