Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our operating room (OR) team. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe and efficient sterilization of surgical instruments and supplies, supporting high-quality patient care in an acute care setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Decontaminate, clean, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment following hospital protocols and safety standards.
• Assemble and prepare surgical instrument trays according to procedure specifications.
• Inspect instruments for damage, wear, and proper function, reporting any issues to the OR team.
• Maintain accurate records of instrument tracking, sterilization cycles, and inventory management.
• Operate and monitor sterilization equipment (e.g., autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners) in compliance with infection control policies.
• Collaborate with surgical and nursing staff to ensure timely instrument availability for procedures.
• Follow strict infection prevention protocols, including adherence to BLS and any facility-mandated immunizations.
• Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in sterile processing, preferably in an OR setting.
• Current BLS certification required.
• NY State licensure required.
• Experience with EPIC charting system preferred.
